What to include in your message

To help me reply usefully, include your main goal, how long it has been present and whether you prefer online sessions or in-person work in Jersey. It also helps to mention your country or time zone, preferred language, rough availability and whether medical, psychological or psychiatric care is already involved.

You do not need to share private details in the first message. A simple outline is enough: anxiety before meetings, fear of flying, disrupted sleep, a habit you want to change or burnout being explored. Sensitive details can wait for the initial conversation, where there is more context and privacy.

If you are contacting me for someone else, mention your relationship to them and confirm that they want to take part in the conversation. Hypnotherapy depends on direct consent; family members can help with practical information, but the decision to begin needs to come from the client.

Response, privacy and limits

I usually respond within 24 business hours. The first conversation is used to decide whether hypnotherapy is suitable, explain the format, fees and next steps, and set realistic expectations. Messages and forms are handled carefully, but a website form should never be used for emergencies.

If there is immediate risk, thoughts of self-harm, intense crisis, chest pain, neurological symptoms or urgent medication concerns, contact emergency services or local clinical support. Hypnotherapy may be complementary, but it does not replace medical or psychological care when that care is needed.

Online, in person and next steps

Online sessions take place by video call and are usually the simplest option for clients in the UK, Brazil, Portugal or other countries. For clients in Jersey, in-person appointments may also be available by arrangement. In both formats, the first step is a short conversation to confirm the goal, language, time zone, payment method and whether there is a safe setting for the session.

After that contact, you receive guidance on the best next step: booking an individual session, considering a package, reading a specific service page or seeking another kind of care first. The decision is made calmly, without sales pressure, because hypnotherapy only makes sense when there is suitability, consent and a realistic expectation.

If you already know you want to begin, include two or three possible time windows. If you are still comparing options, say that openly. The initial conversation is also a place to ask about hypnosis, estimated number of sessions, confidentiality, language and the difference between hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and medical care.

When I reply, I aim to suggest the simplest route for your situation, including waiting, seeking clinical assessment first or only receiving initial guidance.

When this may not be the right moment

Some situations require clinical assessment before hypnotherapy: new physical symptoms that have not been investigated, severe depression, problematic substance use, ongoing violence, risk of self-harm, recent medication changes or a crisis that prevents basic functioning. In those cases, I may suggest contacting a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist or local urgent service before booking.

That does not mean hypnotherapy can never help; it means the order of care matters. When there is enough safety, the work may later support emotional regulation, phobias, habits, sleep, confidence or preparation for specific situations.
